Compare funding one component at a time

Use four columns

For each option, record the funding origin, application route, coverage components and application state for the exact cycle. “University” can describe administration or the source of money; ask which meaning applies. “Partial” describes coverage and does not identify the funder. A badge or announcement title cannot replace the detailed terms.

Inspect the components

Divide your comparison into tuition, accommodation, living costs, insurance and other expenses to investigate. For each, record explicit coverage, a specified reduction, explicitly excluded coverage or unknown. Unknown is not zero. Investigate the support period, continuation conditions and limits. A tuition waiver alone does not establish that you will have money for accommodation or travel.

Compare matching units

Do not combine a monthly allowance with annual expenses without identifying the supported months. Keep currency, period and the basis of any reduction beside the value. Hypothetical arithmetic only: if tuition is [verified annual amount] and a waiver is [verified percentage], remaining tuition equals the amount multiplied by one minus the percentage. Leave the result blank while either input is unknown. This is not a university price or invoice.

Check conditions before ranking

An independent tuition scholarship and the CSC route are different. Tsinghua SIGS lists them in separate support categories; that does not establish your eligibility or common rules for combining awards elsewhere. Find your program’s current terms for eligibility, renewal and concurrent funding. If the notice is silent, record a question for the admissions office instead of assuming that awards can be combined.

Connect the comparison to your circumstances

Ask: Which expenses could I cover without depending on unconfirmed money? What would I do if funding were not awarded? You do not need to enter a personal budget on this website. Make a private comparison on your own device. Avoid ranking options solely by the phrase “fully funded,” and do not treat academic admission as a promise that costs will be paid.

Choose a verifiable next step

Pick one unresolved component and find an authoritative answer. Keep the reading date and cycle beside it, then update your comparison when documented information becomes available. A small catalog is not a complete inventory, and the presence of a historical record does not mean applications are open.
